Questions I Get All the Time
What will I specifically do at your wedding?
I turn your wedding to a full on production by keeping a seamless flow from the start until I get people on the dancefloor. I will ensure that all guests are entertained, engaged, and attentive.
I am not a fan of awkward pauses and I wouldn’t want that for your reception. I know how to create and manage the energy levels at your wedding.
What is the Couples Questionnaire?
This is an optional survey given to all couples who hire me as an MC. This allows me to learn a bit more about the newlyweds, so I can sprinkle in personal information throughout the night.
It’s not uncommon for guests to assume I am a good friend of the bride and/or groom (even if I have never met them before!) as I have a working knowledge of their history!
Do I need an MC for a pre-event?
If your pre-event is a house party, you don’t need an MC.
If your pre-event is a more formal event (eg. Ceremony or Sangeet at a banquet hall), you may want to consider a professional to keep the event flowing smoothly and keep the pressure off friends/family to host the event.
Can you tell me more about your DJ Option?
Some clients have realized that when the MC is working with a known DJ, there are many benefits including reducing friction.
If not moving forward with MC services, you can still hire our DJ at the regular rate.
What is the Content Creator Bundle?
Some couples hire a content creator to film snippets of the reception.
This content is not a replacement for your photo/video team, but rather an add-on for couples that want moments captured and available to them within 1-2 business days after the celebrations (as opposed to 12-16 weeks for your official footage from your photographer/videographer).
This content is designed for posting and sharing on social media. You will get a copy of all the filmed content + 1 highlight reel of your night created by my team, typically delivered to you within 2 business days.
What happens if the night is delayed, a speech-giver is not ready, or the dance performers are late?
Working with the hired planner/liaison, I can facilitate changes on the fly, without your audience ever recognizing something is not going according to plan.
How quickly do I have to book?
The quick answer is as soon as possible. Most Saturdays are booked 1+ years in advance. To give you maximum flexibility, I don’t put deadlines on when you need to book by.
However, I also don’t hold dates and they go to the first couple ready to move forward. Believe it or not, some couples have been known to secure my services on a particular date before they even lock down a venue!
What if our guests don’t understand English?
If more than 50% of your guests understand English, you’re in good hands! Much of my work is physical games and comedy. Guests with limited English language skills are still able to enjoy most of the program.
If it is important to include other languages during the program for cultural reasons, I encourage you to ask your speech givers to ensure part of their speeches are in your native language.
If more than 50% of your guests DON’T understand English, you may want to consider a MC who’s first language is those of your guests.
